Calitzdorp Vetplant Fees (Succulent Festival) 2018

This year's Calitzdorp succulent festival turned out to be fantastic. The turnout of succulent enthusiasts, collectors and suppliers alike was significantly larger than 2017. Whilst the Saturday morning rush was quite an event as streams of people when looking for that few rare 'specials' to add to the collection.

There was a host of expert talks, guided nature walks as well as many other activities and things to see. The talks included specialists like Dr Ernst van Jaarsveld giving insights into his Explorations by Rubber Duck as well as Steven Molteno shedding light on Astroloba: A photographic guide to South Africa's "Karoo Corals". The newest described Gasteria Coenii was also on show with the first three specimens sold during the rare plant auction.

To end the festivities the Kyknet film crew did interviews which will hopefully air on television.

Fantastic event, expertly organized, can't wait for next year!
