Aloe arenicola (Sandaalwyn)

This is an unusual and vulnerable aloe in its natural habitat in the dry northern Cape, it grows from Lamberts Bay to the Oranger River mouth. It should not be watered much in summer as it grows in a winter rainfall area. Aloe arenicola  has a vulnerable status due to mining activities and overgrazing. Pale red  flowers from July to December on a single raceme.
